There has been wayyyy too much talk over the ball that is being used in this years World Cup. If you recall this same thing happened in 2006. The speculations are manifested by people complaining initially about the lack of scoring in the early days of the tournament....which has given the players an opportunity to bitch as well. And of course, any player would jump to do so. They are most likely downplay the ball if they are not sponsored by the people who happen to make it,Adidas. I can bet you that none of the players that are criticle of the ball wear Adidas cleats and/or are sponsored by them. I might consider it's legitamite impact on the games played if it was only the strikers that were complaining, same if it were only goalies that had a problem with the ball. But it's not...it is both of them complaining. If both hate of them it then it is fine...everything must be fair. Done deal. The difficulty of this ball just makes the Cup that much more intriguing for me...it's like the hard greens on a Sunday of a Major Championship in golf. They want a 280 to win the Championship...it just sheds light on the truely remarkable performances you are enjoying. My point is..if it is harder for a player to score long distance goals with this ball then it just makes those special goals more rare, therefor, more enjoyable when to watch when it does happen to occur.
Appreciate the game for what it is, the numbers that are attached to each game are nothing but a bookmark to remember the heroic events that defined those numbers. Like the NBA finals, you know it is good competition when it is low scoring. I wouldn't change a thing....nil-nil draws are alright by me.
Not 0-0 ties guys. Tune in. Yi
